INTRO TO: PACKAGING AND SCREENPRINTING

ALL ABOUT PACKAGING, DIELINES + SCREEN PRINTING

What’s cosmetics without packaging? It can be tricky your first time, but lucky for you, we’ve broken down the process to make it as easy as possible! As of 2025, we no longer offer packaging directly, but we can help you find the packaging you need with our sourcing service!

Packaging Sourcing: Use our resources and network to help you find the packaging you deserve. For a quote, fill this form. We will assist with finding options, sending samples and connecting you to the factory or agent who can complete the order for you.

CHOOSE YOUR PACKAGING

  • Find the packaging you want with a vendor or

  • Use our sourcing services (quote form)

FIND YOUR DIELINES

  • Next step is to ask for the dielines for your packaging from your vendor/factory.

CREATE THE DESIGN

  • You’ll need to create a dieline so that you (and we) know the exact layout of your labeling and packaging.

  • Make sure your labeling aligns with FDA guidelines (see our guide here, or engage our paid regulatory services)!

  • Never heard of dielines before? Check out this awesome blog for a quick explanation! To the right is an example of a dieline.

CHECK THE DIGITAL MOCK-UP

  • When you are finished with the dieline, your factory should make a digital mockup or we can for a fee. This way, you’ll get a 360-degree visual of how the finishing packaging will look to you and your customers.

  • Always get printed samples before moving to full production to ensure you’re 100% satisfied.

CREATE YOUR BOX DIELINES

  • Similarly to the screenprinting dielines, the box area (dielines) are in the last column on the right in the packaging catalog. You can request them from your Project Manager as well.

  • Design the box the same way, by creating the dielines and filling in the space. The box dielines will look like a deconstructed box, laying flat on a surface.

  • If you have any questions about how to create the dielines from the measurements shown, please contact your Project Manager.

FILL THE DIELINES

  • Fill the dielines.

  • Make sure you continue to follow the proper FDA labeling! See our guide.

  • Note: Outer packaging is different from inner packaging.

GET THE DIGITAL MOCKUP

  • Your designer or factory should create a mock-up for you before printing.

  • Typically, once signed off on, no changes can be made without incurring additional fees / possible re-print, so check your mock-up well before signing off!
